Hobbybrauer Stuttgart (English)

Ist Englisch ok? Mein Deutsch is schlecht...

I recently moved to Stuttgart from Sweden for work. I have been brewing for almost 6 years and was for a long time running a brewing blog (in Swedish though) http://chubbsnanobryggeri.blogspot.de/ . I sold all my equipment before we moved here, but it turns out I cannot stay away form this hobby for long and I am now buying equipment to start small again (10 liter BIAB batches).

Does anyone know if there is any active homebrewing clubs in Stuttgart? I am looking for fellow brewers to meet up with since I don't know anyone in the city who are into home brewing.

Hey Hey Tiboas,

First of all a warm welcome to Stuttgart ;)
Some of us recently started a club called Kesselbrauer: http://www.kesselbrauer.de/

If you log in to the forum you can also find a Sub-Forum for activities going on in Stuttgart:
viewforum.php?f=56

What else can I say ? Ah, maybe for you beer orientation map ;) here is a list of nice pubs & breweies with different beers on tap:

Cast a local micro brewery: http://www.cast-brauerei.com/

Ackermanns a nice pub with weekly changing beers on tab: http://www.ackermanns.de/

Kraftpaule a Pub and Beer shop also organising "craft beer meet ups"
http://www.kraftpaule.de/

Riedmüller a Shop n pub mixup
https://m.facebook.com/ridmueller

A bigger local breweies brewpub:
http://www.brauhaus-schoenbuch.de/

Restaurant 87: http://www.87-stuttgart.de/

There are many more but I think this works for the first Start in Stuttgart ;)

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me via PN or post here.

One more thing, we do have a private library here organised by some of us. Just in case you also sold your books ;) have a look into the Stuttgart subforum here as mentioned above.

Cheers

Welcome to Stuttgart,

T3K already mentioned the club. Some activities include bulk orders for malt, trips to famous beer places (monastary of Andechs, hops harvest inTettnang, the brewing trade fair BrauBeviale, and others to come), running a stand at the http://www.craftbeerfestival-stuttgart.de and of course meetings at different bars/breweries in Stuttgart (also non members are welcome).
You can use the form on http://www.kesselbrauer.de or feel free to contact alias2222 here on this forum.

Have fun exploring Stuttgarts growing beer scene.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I didn't notice the sub-forums. Maybe a moderator can move this thread to the Stuttgart one.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I love Kraft Paule, already been there several times. We went to 87 once, the beer was excellent but the food was a disaster. Actually, by chance we are going to brauhaus schoenbuch tomorrow with my department!

Unfortunately, all of my brewing books are at my parents in laws house in Sweden. Maybe I should send them here now when we have arranged an apartment since I think the idea of a library is really nice.

I will contact you guys in Kesselbrauer on the site. It would be really fun to meet some other brewers! I am a bit worried about my non existing German skills though! Do you have meet ups where you try each others beers? Or joint brew days?

Moin Moin,

don't worry I would say most of the brewers do speak English ;)
from time to time we trade beers when we have our meet ups and as far as I know there will be a home brewers contest organised by the guys from "kessesbrauer".

Not sure jet but eventually I'll be at the cast brewery this Friday afternoon. I can write you a PN if I go if you like ;)

Cheers
